I've been using the same type of tachometer for a while now, and this is my fourth one. The last one lasted three years, which is long for this type of tachometer, but the worst one broke within a year of use. It's cheap but fragile, so it's not suitable for off-road bikes. Also, the cord hole needs to be waterproofed. The pointer also fades, so it should not be stored in direct sunlight.[Source : Wish]
